In this thread, the rules will be set for formatting your suggestion ideas.

Please note that any suggestion could potentially be scrapped at any point during development.

Rules:
-Use the correct prefix for your suggestion. Options include [Creature], [Neutral Creature], [Hero], [Room], [Trap], [Door], [Spell], [Mechanic] or [Other]. This is for organisational purposes.
-Please try to follow the formats below, as they list out a lot of useful or important information and can help to organise thoughts.
-Make sure you take careful note of the Guidelines. Following them may greatly assist you in getting positive feedback as well as giving it a shot for WftO.
-Avoid using numbers to describe statistics. Use general terms such as "low" or "high". We can't tell from a number whether it's meant to be a lot or only a little.

Formats:

Units
Name (What is your unit's name or title?)

Preface (Briefly state what inspired your idea, quick general info about it, etc.)

Appearance image: (Post your unit's appearance here, to attract viewers' attention, and show them and us what your creature looks like)

Stats: (Remember: Avoid using numbers for statistics. Use general terms, such as "low", "very low", or "high".)

Health: (The amount of a beating your Unit can take before falling)
Armor: (Damage Reduction, can come from natural armor such as hardened skin / furs)

Gender: (Are you a boy or a girl?)

Skills: (Abilities that your creature can learn. Always add Melee to level one, and a ranged attack or such (e.g. archer's arrow) if appropriate. Use the Level: Skill [Description, if required] format for easy reading. In addition, they can have additional special abilities as well (think like flight, and such).)

Weaknesses/Resistances: (What type of attacks is your unit strong or weak against? Take in mind the following types of attacks: Slashing, Blunt, Fire, Ice, Electric, Poison, Dark, Light.)

Information: (Basically, describe your unit here. Tell us what makes your creature notable.)

Appearance: (Describe what your unit looks like with some more detail.)

Behavior in Dungeon: (When idle, what does your Unit do? Also has typical behavior, such as things it tends to do and what kind of creatures it hangs out with, and to what types of rooms it goes.)

Battle Style: (What combat style is your unit? [Tank/Blocker, Blitzer, (offensive) Support, Buffer, etc.]. Also includes combat tendencies for that Unit.)

Jobs: (The jobs that your Unit does. Training, Researching, Guarding, and other such things qualify as jobs.)

Loves: (Are there certain things your Unit loves? Allies can be included, units this unit gets along with pretty well.)

Hates: (Are there certain things your Unit despise? Enemies / rivalries can also be included)

Anger reaction: (If your Unit becomes angry enough, what will his action(s) be? The Unit leaves the dungeon by default.)

Lair: (What does the Unit's lair look like?)

Obtainable By: (Creature, Hero, or Neutral? Do they come from a portal, must they be converted, Temple recipe, etc.)

Attracted by: (What attracts your Unit? Think like room requirements or other prerequisites for the unit to come into your dungeon)

How Introduced: (How does the Unit first appear in the game's campaign mode?)

Entrance Effect: [OPTIONAL] (What kind of effect occurs when your Unit comes through the entrance?)

Torture: [OPTIONAL] (What does the torturer do to your Unit if it's being tortured in a torture chamber?)

For convenience, you can copy the format with BBCode from here:

Mechanic & Other

There isn't a particular format for mechanics or other suggestion ideas. However, please do try to keep these types of suggestions organised. Large blocks of text can be hard to read if they're not structured properly.

What is the difference between support class and buffer class unit?
A support stays at the back and has many ranged attacks, usually primarily focused on doing damage. A buffer makes their allies stronger by shielding them and granting bonuses. See MGR's Maiden suggestion for a good example.

The suggestion format is implied. It's based on old plans rather than the current state of the game. So there is data missing from the format that will be included in game, and on the other hand there will be data on the format that won't be included in the final game.

That being said, you can feel free to add any information you feel is relevant so long as it's not excessive (for example, don't add 10 new stats). Descriptions can be added anywhere, I often added notes above my suggestions if I felt they were necessary.

Not only that, but the suggestion format is more of an easy way for people to communicate concepts to us. There's no point in asking people to post actual numerical stats as balance is relative to the rest of the game, plus the way we handle certain stats still isn't decided.

Is there a suggested format for actual game mechanics or is this up for suggestion at all?

Ever since DK2 introduced the elite forms of creatures I have had this idea about having players choose certain options (like choosing to patronise a specific dark god, or upgrading certain rooms) that gives them access to a specific set of upgraded creatures and spells but that locks out others.

Important update: I have revised the suggestion rules and formats. Especially the Units format has been overhauled.

Keep this new format in mind for creating new suggestions, and if you have older suggestions, try to update these to the new formats if necessary.

I think you can remove from Unit description 'Information' and 'Appearance' under 'Weaknesses/Resistances' because we have 'Preface' and 'Appearance image' up.
Personally, I'd rather not. They're all different things. "Appearance Image" is an actual display; however, Appearance is where you would write a description, in words, to better describe the creature. (I, for one, am usually pretty disdainful about just slapping images down and always try to write up a good description as well.) Preface allows you to describe how you actually came up with the idea and such, but Information is where you can write what the in-game description of the creature may be, as well as its history.
