Name Svartálfr (Black Elf)

Preface I figured there needed to be a monster that could be swarmed and wasn't too strong without being generic, so I picked a good fit from Norse mythology. Also cannon fodder.

Stats:

Health: (very?) Low
Armor: Slightly above low
Movement Speed: Extremely Fast
Attack strength: Very weak
Attack speed: Very fast
Intelligence: Low
Construction: Medium
Training Rate: Medium
Training Cost: Very low
Wage: Extremely low but not zero

Skills:
Level 1: Claw Attack "A weak but effective attack as they will continue the clawing until either they or their unfortunate victim drops dead"
Level 2: Rock Throwers "Stronger initially but a slower attack, weaker than the claws overall but good to keep them out of the killzone, due to their poor physical capabilities they aren't good throwers"
Level 3: Natural Armor "They look weak with nothing but themselves but in reality you need more than a short sword to chop one in two!" (Makes armor a bit higher)
Level 5: Rally "Once achieving this rank of expertise others of his kind will look up to him as a leader of sorts" (Gives aura effect that increases effectiveness of nearby black elves.

Resistances: Cold, Poison, Darkness
Weaknesses: Fire, Light, Electricity

Information: Hailing from the deepest caves the black elves has been awakened by the Underlord. Due to their mischievous nature it didn't take much to convince them to join his ranks. Due to living in such places they have grown resistant to such things as poisonous fungi, cold caves and the spawn of darkness, but they have rarely (If ever) seen the likes of Fire and Electricity. Due to light being a combination of these two they naturally don't like it.
They would later become the Underlords go-to unit for getting adventurers in bad situations, or for fighting wicked creatures not under his rule.
The Black elves has also created a sort of tribe system among them, so if an unfortunate adventurer (Or the Underlord himself!) angers one, he should be prepared to meet a full force.
If it wasn't obvious enough they can actually see in the dark.

Appearance: Dark elves would be short and tiny creatures with the ability to move fast and do actions quick. Their skin would be dark. Dark Elves wear no actual armor besides their own skin as its thick enough. They have honed what could be called "unarmed combat" by fighting with nothing else than their own claws and bodies. Their ears would be large and their skin would look overall "ragged" and "worn" due to the circumstances they've lived in.

Behavior in Dungeon: If given no command they will make their way to the darkest chamber, but if they have an order they will hold that order with their life. Black Elves are loyal creatures in that way.

Battle Style: They swarm in numbers, but aren't afraid of picking a fight alone. They tend to run if outnumbered greatly though. If one is outnumbered several others will come as quickly as possible to help or avenge his death. (If they are standing idly without anything to do)

Jobs: They are excellent guards as they will stand there for quite a while, and automatically call for extra guards when needed. They work as cheap construction units too. They are mostly good at getting to places where they are needed quick.

Loves: Dark alleys and rainy days at the beach

Hates: Wizards that dwell in holier-than-thou magic.

Anger reaction: If you anger one enough he will convince several others to join him in a rampage.

Lair: Their natural lair would be Svartálfrheim, but that name isn't very catchy. The lair would be very dark and mostly filled with rocks, basic stuff.

Attracted by: Their natural love would be a dark hideout, but they also love causing grief.

How Introduced: You would dig into one of their cave complexes and convince them to join your cause against pesky humans.

Torture: [OPTIONAL] Repeatedly shine light in its face and burn its skin.

Advisor Quotes: [OPTIONAL] "What they lack in strength they make up in sheer numbers. They might not be too smart or too crafty but they are definitely fast and focused.

When I think about it they could really be named anything but I couldn't think of any other cool creatures so there it is.

First thing that came to my mind was this dark elf from ff4:

The idea itself is nice, and not as worn out as the usual dark elfs a la dnd, but there is already the gnarling which seems to take the role of the lesser fighter who is used in numbers.
Maybe you should give them additional abbilitys or passiv effects, to be as useful as the cheap(?) and scavenging gnarling.
Like Spell reflection, interesting curses, dungeon dutys-stuff like that.

Yeah I guess, haven't looked too much at the Gnarling.
The Gnarling however seems like its less throwaway and more "arm up after time" so maybe theres room either way?

Maybe the Black Elves could have some sort of weak magic that blinded their foe, and some natural protection towards firebolts.

Also, that image is kind of spot on (Except of how floaty and disproportioned it looks)
