The Torture Chamber in WFTO is fine. You're the bad guy. It's not getting justified as "as long as the result is fine the good guys can do as they wish" because quiet frankly, you're not the good guy.
Uh... Wh-...
... Wut.

Yes, you play as 'the bad guy', and yes it's not intended to be "good torture" or something. That's not my point. :/

Maybe I could have written my point better as to express my point more explicitly, but it really doesn't matter that much.

I don't understand feminists logic. Woman do porn because they want to and feminists don't have the right to speak for all women. And women aren't the only people that do porn.
... Why are you trying to start this conversation? I suppose you could point out that, for all of the logic you insinuate me to lack, it still seems more intuitive to me that this isn't the right place or time to have such a discussion.

And of course women aren't the only people to do porn. You-don't-say.

Sex! Feminism! Violence! Woo!

That's all interesting and stuff, but I was just wondering if there was a tentative timetable for the DRM-free release. It's what I paid for. It's what I want. I'm waiting as patiently as I can make myself (all the harder because DK2 and WINE aren't on speaking terms right now). I'd just like to know if I'm going to be playing this summer, this fall, by Christmas, next year, in a decade.

Just a clue, an idea, a hint would be nice.

Thanks.

Hello Mr.Hales

The DRM free version will be releasing alongside Patch 1.1.

https://wftogame.com/wfto-wednesday-122/

This DRM-Free version will be available to anyone who has kickstarted the project or bought the game via the humble store on our website. Of course as we will be pulling steam features out of the game there will be a few key differences to the DRM-Free version:

  • Online Multiplayer will not be accessible, LAN Multiplayer still supported
  • Achievements will not be awarded
  • Cloud Saving is removed
  • DLC Support is currently up in the air, Access to exclusive themes may be limited
  • Minor Patches will likely be less frequent than the steam version due to difficulty in delivery
We will be doing our best to ensure that the differences between versions are as minimal as possible so those of you itching to play the game but not wanting to do so on steam will have the best experience we can provide.

We’ll also be exploring options to return some features in the future. Keep your eyes peeled in the next few weeks for more news on the DRM-Free version as well as more news regarding 1.1.

Hey guys.

Regarding the DRM-Free version - It'll be coming soon, we're just waiting for patching to calm down before pushing it out (we don't want to push out a buggy build that's difficult to patch).

Regarding everything else - I've been wanting to put out a statement but we've literally just not had time. Once things calm down a bit we'll be doing that, hopefully some point this weekend.
I'll be honest... Most of us would've rather have had a buggy version to start with as a drm free with the PROMISE that when it was stable we'd get an update released.

But at least it's finally coming. I probably won't stream it anymore though... like I was originally planning to. I've waited far too long... just not really excited anymore. Still glad I backed it, don't get me wrong... but the huge extra delay was just too much for me since my expectations were high.

To give you an idea of what "buggy" means, at one point, progress was only saved to steam clouds, meaning offline play (or DRM/without steam) wasn't even possible, you couldn't progress pass level 1.

So this buggy version you're saying you'd rather have had, would have probably been somewhere on the spectrum between, not actually playable.. and what you'll actually get when it's ready (a stable playable build), and probably closer to the unplayable end if you'd got it sooner.

I've been through the buggy version, and even without the DRM-dependency issues that @nutter666 pointed out you would not have wanted to play 1.0.0.
You DRM-free guys are lucky in one way or another to get the game in such a better state the first time you play it.

Calm down, man. I dont care much about DRM vs Steam, but it seems you do. And, for those who care they were guaranteed that they would get. However, when the reality is opposite, you might feel angry. That makes sense. But, i think they have other priorities rather than satisfying the people who care. And, you have right to complain because you didnt get what you had paid. So, i do recommend you to contact them. If not, you can ask help from a larger community. Causing a scandal is not a good thing but it might help. My friend did it when she couldn't dowload anything from. Then, that site had to compensate he.

This thread is from 2015, things have moved on quite a bit since then. :) There is now a stable, almost 1:1 DRM-Free version provided by GOG.com. :)
