Ok, yeah this is some what of a christmas themed joke. Certainly not a creature that would spawn all year round but maybe as a christmas easter egg or something

Highlight: A twisted take on the idea of Santa Claus, this is the creature which delivers gifts to underlords and their minions. He basically spawns, goes about his business of dropping off presents for creatures (as a neutral for all players on the map he moves from dungeon area to dungeon area leaving presents at the lairs of creatures and delivers a present to the actual players - i.e a pile of gold) then vanishes again. Some what of a unexpected benefit or a nuisance factor depending on your play style.

Faction: Neutral or Underlord (if captured and converted)
Type: Intelligent
Role: Support Caster / Disabler
Acquired By: Spawns randomly in the maps with ice/snow during winter months if you have a certain number of intelligent creatures
Basic Attack: Melee for base attacks - Average Power, Ranged for abilities (Possibly Ice or Non-elemental) - Low power
Offensive Power: Weak Melee attacks normally but does a lot of damage to enemies on his naughty list, intended to support rather than actually attack when not angered/converted
Defensive Power: Average health defense/ fairly useless if silenced.
Resistances: Resistant to Ice, Average to others
Movement: Moderate/Slow
Work: N/A
Entertainment: Delivers and leaves presents in the lairs of intelligent creatures
Special Needs: Needs access to all lairs and will break down doors if necessary to reach them.
Upgrades: None

Traits

Thick Fat: His thick layers of body fat insulate him from ice attacks giving him resistance to that kind of damage.
Friendly: Shanty Claws is treated as a friendly/neutral unit by intelligent creatures and therefore they won't attack him and he will not attack/fight back unless he is actively attacked/provoked. Beasts will still attack as normal as they're too stupid to understand that he isn't a threat.
Strong Willed: Shanty Claws has seen the rise and fall of hundreds of underlords over his long life and therefore is more resistant to conversion tactics than one would expect. He takes much longer to convert than a normal creature would.

Abilities
Presents:
Shanty Claws throws a bundle of small wrapped presents at the target unit either doing a small amount of damage to enemies in the radius around it (if targeting an enemy) or a healing a small amount to enemies in that same area (if targeting a friendly unit) and then stunning them for a tiny duration (for both effects, possibly with a present opening animation).

As a neutral creature he would typically heal injured creatures from both sides if he happened to pass a battle in progress unless provoked by one side in which case he would become unfriendly/offensive towards the owner of the attacker. Medium length cooldown

Naughty List: Shanty Claw marks a target down on his naughty list debuffing it with reduced offensive stats and causing it to take extra damage from Shanty Claws's melee attacks for a short duration. If attacked as a neutral he will initially respond by targeting the attack with this Ability before actually attacking if further provoked. If converted he would use this ability against enemies as normal as he attacked.
Cooldown lasts as long as the duration of the ability and does not stack if the player some how managed to get multiple Shanty Claw units.

Special Delivery: As part of his delivery schedule, Shanty Claws will visit each underlord's treasury and gift the player either additional gold (if he is still friendly to that player) or will convert a large chunk of the underlord's gold to useless coal (if he is unfriendly to that player due to being attacked or angered) basically removing a chunk of that player's gold. As a converted unit he would either be able to buff a player's own gold supplies or debuff an enemy's gold with a very long cooldown.

Flavour:
Appearance: A slightly darker evil looking version of Santa Claus
Likes: Delivering Presents, Eating in the Tavern
Dislikes: Being attacked, Doors blocking him from delivering.
Behaviour: Moves through the dungeon delivering gifts to lairs and drops a special delivery at the underlord's lair after he has delivered to all lairs if he manages to do so without being attacked.

As I said at the start of the post he's more of a one off event than a commonly spawning creature, more suited for an easter egg or maybe a ritual.

He would spawn from a random area of the map and go about delivering presents to all the underlords and their minions, starting with the nearest one to him. Ideally he would go about his business ignored by players, deliver the gifts, possibly interrupt a battle if he encounters one by throwing healing presents at everyone involved in it. Give a nice boost to gold for all players as he passes through their dungeons, then vanish again in a flurry of snowflakes and jingle bells after he has visited all players.

But players could also instead to choose to attack him and try and capture/convert him to:
A. Stop him delivering to other players.
B. Gain a unique creature for their army.

Doing so however can backfire as he then becomes aggressive to that player, stunning attacking creatures and no longer delivering gifts and if he isn't then captured in time will turn a large chunk of that player's wealth to worthless coal as punishment before vanishing.

In terms of balance, he would (if not attacked) give the same amount of gold to each player and the presents for minions in their lairs would have no effect on gameplay. So he shouldn't give any player an advantage unless he is attacked.

Nightmare before christmas much? :p

Honestly I'd much rather see a Christmas dungeon theme where the imps are wearing santa hats, the dungeon heart is like a christmas tree surrounded by presents, and the walls are icy and covered in christmas lights and holly.

Yeah... Jack may have inspired this a little bit (a lot) and it's not to be taken too seriously. Actually... after I spent far longer typing that description out than I intended, your Christmas dungeon theme idea is actually better!

Oh Krampus. Yeah, I know that guy. I just haven't thought of it as a possible easter egg because I'm not sure if it's a widely enough recognizable character to make a good one.

Then again, who says easter eggs have to be obvious?

Yeah, we don't have some saint Nikolaos in Finland, we have christmas-goat (joulupukki) it's a pity old traditions are dying out.

Almost forgot: go and see Rare Exports: everybody loves seeing nude old men running around in snow.
