Please remove the inactive state, the golden vortex!

    Please remove the inactive state, the golden vortex!

    Golden whirlwind worth 1500 gold is only needed for one purpose: distribute gold mined throughout the treasury. Very rarely, when it will stop (only if the cell below it is needed for something else). Then it can be sold.
    Remove not the active state, it (especially if the shrines of gold and gold vortices on the map much) is sometimes included without the will of the player!

    It is absolutely useless, it can be activated by accident, it brings only harm.

    i do agree with this. The Gold vortex was a defense originally, and all defenses we have can be toggled for something. As its a construct now it does not need it i guess. And yes i do not see what the use of deactivating is.

    i will raise an improvement. No guarantee though.

    There is one reason where the gold vortex MUST be deactivated.
    This is happening automatically when the vaults of the player are full.
    Other than that it is a design question.

    Well, for reasons of an effective running game, the Golden vortex must be deactivated with full coffers (although, logically, it is not necessary, it's not deactivated at the same time a Shrine of gold or gold does not disappear in the ground). But let a) more in any case the Golden vortex is not inactivated, i.e. so that the player or AI can't do it, let its state is not visible, because with a full Treasury it is not important. b) If not a full Treasury, and the vortex is activated independently.

    It is more a technical reason. If the system wouldn't close it when vaults are full, it would literally work like the greatest money wreck tool the world has ever seen :D
    (Gold would put into would be lost forever, which we do not want)

    wouldnt it be possible to transfer the gold to the core as simple gold piles then (wich would not be lost, but not stored in the vaults anyways)

    would make sense in my opinion, as there is still need to bring gold out of the greedy enemies range, even if you cant store it anymore.

    Well gold is transfered to vaults with remaining capacity and stored there.
    Of course when all are full we could spawn gold piles at random vault tiles of the player, but i think that would be a bit messy and make the gold vortex OP.
    I guess then no one would care about enlarging their vaults anymore as money stocked to piles will be always absorbed once spent generating an endless stream of money.
    And maybe you even forgot where you placed the vortex and you not even know from where all the piles of gold suddenly pop.
    No technical issue to implement that, but from the simulation aspect and balancing i not really like this idea, would be interested in what designers say.
    For me I think the cleaner solution is to automatically close and open the gold vortex depending on if the player has storing capacitiy left, which is independent from if the player can manually close them.

    Closing when full is definitely the simpler/cleaner/easier option in my opinion. Why "fix" what isn't broken?

    I note that as if you have not activated the gold eddies in the map editor, at the beginning of the game - they, initially, was not activated.

    So i tried replicating the issue. it works like a charm honestly.

    please check if you have not disabled the vortex manually in the editor.

    So, if no one wants to use it, then we will remove the possibility to manually deactivate gold vortex for next patch.

    Just a thought. Could the vortex be set so that once all gold storage locations are full the vortex automatically deactivates...
