Just wondering what people would like to see in an options menu.

you have your obvious things like:
  • Resolution
  • Music Volume
  • Narrator Volume
  • SFX Volume
  • Texture Quality
  • Animation Quality
  • VFX Quality
  • Draw Distance
  • Draw Distance Fog on/off
  • Level of Clutter
  • Field of View

but what other things would people like to see?

Perhaps a preview of how a model would look when adjusting texture, animation or VFX quality.
Also I like the idea of the mentor having a separate volume bar as it is quite different from other sounds in a dungeon.

Succuboob slider: adjust the cup size of the Succubus
Augre tail on/off: toggle the tail of the Augre
Dante voice filter: most cheap speakers can't handle the awesome of Dante's voice
Unit panel on/off: should be standard 'off' to annoy the n00bs
Sim fenzy: changes all ingame names to Simburgur

Advanced tooltip checkbox: Turning this option on gives more detailed tooltips for rooms/spells/potions/rituals, usually by giving numerical data.

Simple examples
Treasury: cost:x
Stores gold

Quickfreeze potion:cost x
Freezes minions in a (small/medium) area

Averience: turns your mana into gold

Shockwave: pushes back minions

Advanced examples
Treasury: cost x
Stores x gold on each tile

Quickfreeze potion: cost x
Freezes minions in a 3x3(?) area for 15 seconds.

Averience: drains your mana for x seconds to generate x gold per second

Shockwave: push minions 1 tile back, with decreased pushback the farther the minions are from the shockwave center.

I expect those kind of tooltips to be standard, I believe the plan is for there to be a primary tooltip with just the name, and then if you hover a bit longer, it expands with more information.

just thought of another option, which might help performance, due to the way objects are rendered in batches

  • Level of asset variety
setting it to it's lowest value would mean all room props are the same, all walls for each room and corridors are the same, just repeated, all minions of each type are 100% the same. etc etc

Great idea!

Edge-smoothing or Anti-Aliasing (for more powerful systems) would also be awesome.:D
Is that possible in Unity? I hope so....

Separate volume sliders for: Ambient noise, Minion noise, Voiceover, controlled actions, and room noises. being able to fully customize the sound levels would be very useful to a lot of people, I think.
