Name: Infernal Chancellery
Stats: Minimum effective size 3x3.
Buildability: Yes
Cost: Average
Information:
Infernal Chancellery should serve as a finance optimization room, reducing minion payments, cost of traps etc. The nature of this room is Greed, dealing with financial machinations, lies, fine print in infernal pacts and ways to hold off payments your lazy minions do not deserve. Most important in realms with sparse gold deposites, where you should hoard every copper coin to survive. Should serve as both optimisation tool - to reduce payment a bit, and emergency measure - to hold off riots from unpaid minions.

Function:
Possible functions\features:
- We have ways: Reducing minion payments.
- Fine print: when worked by Greed-relared creatures with high intellect, there's a chance they can discover(or make up) a part with fine print in their contracts that may lead to skipping next payment...
- Read before you sign!: in rarest of cases, most skilled workers can twist contract in such a way, that minion finds himeself signing a permission to enslave himself! This removes all payment from the minion, who is now your eternal slave.
- Soul market: Can sell souls from your imprisoned heroes and living creatures. Earn you some gold and, possible, can turn hero into some soulless type of creature after his demise in prison.
- It's all their fault!: Sometimes masses of working minions, outraged by lack of payment, may gather and vent their frustration upon Infernal Chancellery instead of your treasury. All papers about debts are destroyed meaning minions calm down until next payment(i.e. count it as they received their payment) but Infernal Chancellery is devastated by outraged mob(you can't sell IC during riot).
- But you get money NOW: Can ensure your minions that your inability to pay them is temporary and you can pay them later, when you fix your financial problems. Minions skip their paday but not only you have to pay them later, but have to pay with interest! But at least you can prevent mass rioting...for now.
- Hellish Microtransactions: 3x1 room can serve as a treasury replacement for distant outposts so minions would not crawl 10 miles to treasury and then go back, leaving guard posts unoccupied most of the time.

Wall Decoration:
Filled with paper, contracts, books and pacts of various kind. 3 wall tiles in a 3x3 room provide you with one more work place. 3x1 wall provide you with Hellish Microtransaction variant, serving as a kind of fantasy cash dispenser.

Appearance:
In a 3x3 room central tile is a bureaucratic desk of the worst kind from deepest pits o bureaucratic hell, operated by someone like Infernal Bursar.

Description:
Infernal Chancellery is a very incarnation of bureaucratic hell. Greed holds sway here and even sneezing requires 666 copies of certificates from all the hellish instances. After visiting the Chancellery, minions often fight until their deaths, because it is much easier to die, than pay off all the debts they aqured from infernal contracts.

Hahahahahahaha! This idea is 'very' interesting. Adding a little financial planning to WFTO! It's a grand idea being able to make promises to my minions and such. Selling the souls of the humans, and all my creatures making complaints there would be amusing too!

The catch is, implementing that feature would not be easy. They would need to change how the interface works, and there would be a ton of things that would change about the game, that could possibly be game breaking if done in the wrong way.
I love the idea, but it would be one that would have to be done carefully. The slightest error in this idea could ruin the game for everyone.

It's actually all being done already in one way or another. Plus, that's only an idea for a room, and open for change if developers would find it appropriate.
Reduction of payment - easiest to introduce. simple if-them-else algorithm.
Chance events - already had them in DK2 where your minions could win in a casino. And enslavement could be rare event akin to jackpot.
Skip payment - a matter of several flags and modifiers. again if Flag A then modify next payment by +N%.
Sould market could be used by adding flags to the Prison - we had "Lock\unlock" now we may sell soul as well.
Venting anger is a script - go Infernal Chancellery, attack it, set payment as paid.
So far hellish Microtransaction is the most complex as I have no idea about existing game mechanics regarding it - it may be imposible to add different function to the room's wall elemts r it could be easy if that option exists.

A manual room should never have more than one throw-in option and a lever, like the casino or the prison in dk,
the throw-in option could be the soul selling of prisoners and the manual lever the payday skipper.
The rest seems to work on its own, so I dont know where interface problems could occur,
the transaction could just be a simple teleporter, imps throw gold in the room which gets teleported after a while to the next treasury.

This is idea is awesome, pure awesome. Lawful evil demons like those from the D&D franchise always had a special sort of appeal to me, and if we already go full evil, we might as well include Hellish bankers. Now, to become Evil Incarnate, we only have to include some traps built of dark corridors and misplaced Lego bricks.

""Don't worry about the fine print, the soul consumption clause is never exercised."

Guys, did anyone bother to read the fine print when we joined this site? ;)

This seems to have potential to me. Maybe we can mortgage our minions to pay others. Then if we can't pay our loans, they get repossessed. (think demon possession) stronger than normal, and attacking you and your still loyal minions :D
I know... subprime minion loans will break this dungeons economy....

With recent info about "Gem Shrine" this room ould serve to somewhat augment digging speed when working with gems, but only when creatures working in Chancellery.

Level-up of any creature that is lured to your dungeon through this room should be Auditor :p Primary attack - he has some ancient calculator/notebook, works as a support unit and casts a "2N" condition on enemy unit from a safe distance (numbered nutcase). When threatened immediately, he throws money at attacking creature, then tries to flee. Can be planted to enemys treasury to cast temporary insolvency (type of spell) - even with full treasury, enemy wont be able to pay his creatures or build rooms)...

Doubt Greed Players will have problem with gold. This room could be fun for MPD mode, but for normal WFTO game, I don't feel like it will be ever needed, ( maybe trap price reduction, but it could be added in some other way ).

We dont know about the importance of money, if theres a whole vein decidated to it I think gold gets some more uses, like making badass gargoyles also nearly unlimited money means, as many units as you want + creature calming.
With the gold teleporting abbyliy of this room your also able to fill your treasures way faster than your enemy could, resulting in weakening your enemy trough agressive ressorce stealing.
