Post which game clients you are playing on (Computer "NOT" Console) these days? *AND* What games are you playing on them?
Ive set this Poll up in the hopes of finding a way to get 'us' the Subterranean Games Community playing some multiplayer games of a mutual interest together and possibly even creating a gaming group of which we can all join up and game together?

Also gives people the opportunity to discover some new game clients and possible free multiplayer games.

When I state game clients, Im meaning large game communities where you can play more than one game with others much like for example the popular STEAM client (http://store.steampowered.com/).

I did some quick research on some, help me and the public discover new ones which im quite sure are out there.

Game Clients:
Ill post more as I discover them :)

I use all these clients from time to time. I mainly use Battle.net and Steam though.
  • Im playing on Battle.net mostly Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft.
  • Im playing on Steam mostly Left 4 Dead 2, Half Life 2 DM, Day of Defeat Source, Counterstrike Source
  • Im playing on Origin mostly Battlefield 3
  • Im playing on Voobly mostly Age of Empires 2
  • I havnt used Garena in quite a while but used to play Starcraft on it (less lag and cheating)
On most clients I go by the username Maltesers, Maltydude or Maltesers88

Hope I can hook up with some and game some time, if your keen private message me and we can swap our user details to find each other online.

I have never heard Voobly or Garena.

Here are a couple that I know about not on the list:

  • Gamestop - Previously Stardock Impulse, pretty good store used to have games from stardock that you couldn't get elsewhere
  • Desura - Indie client with a store for indie games and development tools. I've got Xenonauts and Project Zomboid on this.

Steam covers my needs. Also it's ability to keep games upgraded and relatively low prices for certain games makes it even more popular than any other.

What are you playing on Steam bud ?
Well, not much, but I sometimes play Dota 2 with friends.

I got Dungeon Land & Impire and kinda completed them ( Have 3 stars on all Dungeons and completed Campaign on Very Hard difficulty ( where it was possible due to stupid crashes ), so sometimes I just go in, check if anyone is playing and maybe join in for a game or two.

Used to play Killing Floor too from time to time, with friends it's sure fun. Same is L4D(2).

Thought of going Borderlands but then, when my friends got busy, didn't buy it. Still, whenever there's a game that needs to be updated constantly and has a great multiplayer - why not get it, especially if price is low.

Also Steam has some great games that are Free-to-Play, something you should consider if you don't want to spend money but want to try something new.

I'm on Steam, Origin and Uplay even though I am absolutely not a fan of drm. I hate the way those clients litter all over my pc and I need another client for each game I play (for example if I want to play Dead Space origin boots up and if I want to play Anno Uplay starts up) It really annoys the hell out of me. On neither of the clients I have much games as most of my pc games are physically bought in a store.

I use Steam for all games that need it...don't really care much about those 'game clients', they don't really 'improve' quality of gaming in my opinion...

Hmmmm.. Steam is a great client, I wish they had a more easily navigated chat system.. The main thing I loved about Battle.net 1.0 was how easy it was to form rooms and meet people, Battle.net 2.0 is beginning to improve in this nature, used to be really slack in this nature.
The other gaming clients I have used so far dont really compare socially..

Hey someone mentioned Uplay (Ubisoft) .. Did they have a client and can you socialise on it, I dont own a lot of modern Ubisoft titles.
