Sorry, but a burned ent doesnt seem to fit in a dungeon. There could be a backstory around peaceful spirits of the woods, which got insane and evil after a great bushfire, but I still don`t like the idea of a walking tree underground. Maybe you could change them to spore spitting mushroom people? Thats almost the same but fits more the cave and root theme which could fit to a subterrean plant. Also living/magic mushrooms are often associated with darker themes than ents who are usually portrayed as good/neutral.

However, while the pig stomping is amusing and the entrail attack is an interesting abillity which could pay out the ent seems to be an alternative to frost weavers and ember demons (I like the idea of living defences btw, it was suggested several times ago, watch out for similar threads which could inspire you to flesh out your idea)
You left out infos about its resting behaviours, shall it be a stationary creature like the ember demon who spawns out of his rift?
Or a special unit like the gargoyles and ghouls?
Or are they useful for other things like working places, o they care for the living traps they use for self improvement or do they have other jobs?
I like the unusual and inhuman units like this, but I think you should add a bit more information about it and the mechanic it is linked too. (sloth or greed vein btw?)

I know ents are normally peaceful and on land creatures, reason this one is chared. being burned by man it wants revenge and knows it can't get it by its self so it goes underground to find some demonic help, but instead finds the underlord.

there is no info on their resting because they don't rest, trees don't sleep.
think their main job would be caring for living and plant based things around the dungeon.

think it would be sloth for the vein. no real clue though.

*Engage Grammar Nazi Mode*
It's charred, c-h-a-r-r-e-d!
*Disengage Grammar (or actually orthography) Nazi Mode*

Regarding the idea itself, I must say that I share the opinion of [email protected] - an ent, corrupted or not, would simply not fit into the gloomy dark tunnels of a dungeon. However, having mushroom-ents instead also seems rather ridiculous to me. If anything, I would suggest something like a rock golem or elemental.

I find the gameplay mechanic idea interesting, albeit I think it should be more extreme - rather than having the ent as a jack-of-all-trades, it imho should be a mobile turret with a powerful long-range attack, which however would also have a minimum attack range (think of SC's siege tanks or Dow:DC's Tau Broadside Battlesuit). The ent should feature devastating firepower in the entrenched mode, but be relatively slow and fragile while not entrenched, making it necessary to keep an eye on them.

The idea of having the ent be dependent on water has one major flaw - I highly doubt that all maps will feature water. As a result, the ent will only be available on some maps, and even there it may easily become annoying that your end has to venture to the far end of the map where a water source is located rather than just visiting the slaughter pit you constructed right next to it.

i think the charred ent is a great idea and would make a nice combination with the witch. But the entrenched part where it throw boulders would be awkward, feels like the sentinel's tower from DoTA

Throwing rock could be an ability and creature itself could be melee. After all, all Ents should be able to throw a stone/rock at the enemy, it's their signature ability.

I generally dont see the problem with having some creatures specialised to certain rare requirements. i'm not sure it'd be right to have EVERY creature available on EVERY map. like in dk1, you only really got tentacles on maps with water and even then only towards the very end of the campaign despite them being (although one of my favourite) one of the weakest minions you could get. Likewise with hellhounds and lava.
If there is to be a massive variety of minions available, I want there to some which i can only get occasionally. obviously i want the staple minions to be readily accessible, but the devs seem to have them covered (like gnarlings, cultists, chunders etc) anything more exotic should be rare.

having said that, giant shroom monster would be fun and may fit better than walking kindling.
In fact, just inspired a separate thread. :p
