    In this thread you will find a number of useful files and templates for use with the new community translation features. You'll find instructions on how to use these in the Community Translation Guide.

    We will attempt to keep this thread as up to date as possible as we introduce new lines so please keep your eye out for any updates. :)


    Community Translation Template(s)
    These files are the master translation templates for community translation, they contain all keys and text up the date they were exported. Use these to start your translation effort.

    Community Translation Template v2 - MOST RECENT - Last Updated: 13/06/2017 - Patch 1.6.2 - Includes all changes up to that date.

    Basic Community Translation Template - Last Updated: 13/12/2016 - Patch 1.5

    Translation Batches
    These Batches contain new translation text and keys from the versions they are listed for, if you wish to keep your translation up to date it is highly advised you add these batches at the end of your master sheet starting with any batch that is AFTER the original date on your master sheet. I.e. The Basic sheet will require batches 25+ to be up to date.

    Batch 20-24 - Patch 1.5 (14-12-2016)
    Batch 25 - Patch 1.5.1 (13-01-2017)
    Batch 26-28 - Patch 1.6 (03-04-2017)

    Batch 29-30 - Patch 1.6.2 (13-06-2017)
    Batch 31 - Patch 1.6.3 (17-08-2017)
    Batch 32 - Patch 1.6.4 (05-10-2017)

    Translation Edits
    Occasionally a translation key will be updated, in order to make this obvious without hiding it within a translation batch we provide these files which shows which key has changed and the new English text for that key. Please update your existing keys in the spreadsheet ... as adding duplicates will cause unnecessary bloat in the community translation file (though the game will handle duplicates, always prioritising the last occurrence).

    Edits 3 - Patch 1.6.4 (05-10-2017)

    Updated CSVs to v1.1 which is a more flexible template. (It should also actually work now)

    WFTO has around 8k translation keys which is quite something, but most office derivates should be able to handle this.
    Maybe try LibreOffice which is used by one of the translators and it works.

    remember to delete all additional columns ... I do not know why sometimes are created automatically extra columns .. that way the translation does not work. to solve this problem, open the file with Notepad, on the top menu look for "Replace" Now replace ,,, with,
    and ,, name blank (to eliminate them) ..

    Hey BlackBeard,
    We resolved this problem already.
    Extra columns are no problem anymore.
    All what it now does is looking if there is a key in column 1 and if so it translates it with what ever is in column 2 in same row.
    Everything else is now ignored, so that there is less chances to cause problems with anything else in the file.
    Just always keep the first row added automatically by the game.

    does this can't be used Translation Template v.1.1.csv I use this csv to do translate and then save find it can't work ,print all like square?

    Hi zhouchanghao6, sorry to hear you're having a problem.

    If I understand you correctly, have you added the new translation data introduced in Patch 1.6 to your Translation Template v.1.1.csv? Is it then when you upload to the Workshop, then run it in the game, that you are encountering an error?

    it's just a stupid mistake which I made, because csv is not support chinese .so what I need is just save it by csv utf-8 version .

    Hi Guys,

    We've now added Batches 29-30 which mostly cover the upcoming GOG release and Patch 1.6.2, there's also a new type of CSV which contains keys which have received text changes as part of this. We didn't want to include it as a batch as ideally we want to avoid duplicate keys and also make you aware of these changes.

    Pleased to say that community translation files are up for Patch 1.6.4 and these now include subtitles for the various pre-rendered cut scenes throughout the campaign by popular request!

    I'll be reaching out to you all on Steam workshop soon and as always thanks for all your hard work!
